# Custom domains and email senders

## Quick summary

In Settings, add a custom domain (such as portal.mycompany.com) and verify it by adding DNS records. Create sender identities so Qualy emails come from your address; these are also verified with DNS records (DKIM, return path) for reliable delivery.

## Overview

For a fully branded experience, customers should see **your** domain and **your** email address. Qualy supports both, verified through your domain's **DNS**.

## Custom domains

Add a **custom domain** for your portal—for example **portal.mycompany.com**. Qualy shows the **DNS records** to add to your domain's settings (record type and value); once they're in place, the domain is verified.

## Sender identities

Create a **sender identity** so Qualy emails come **from your address**. Qualy shows the DNS records to add—such as **DKIM**, **TXT** and a **return path / CNAME**—to prove ownership and ensure reliable delivery.

A sender identity shows its status:

- **Confirmed** — verified and ready
- **Confirmation email sent** — pending verification

Whoever manages your domain's DNS adds the records Qualy provides. There's a **preview** showing how your email's "From" field will look.

Set up a sender identity before your first big batch of reminders—emails from your own domain are far less likely to land in spam.
