# Getting your invoices paid via the partner portal

## Quick summary

When a partner owes you (rather than the other way around), create an invoice and share it. Partners can view and pay invoices through the partner portal, so you get paid without manual chasing.

## Overview

Money doesn't only flow **to** partners—sometimes a partner owes **you** (commission, for instance). When that's the case, raise an **invoice** and let the partner pay you through their **portal**.

## Step 1 – Create the invoice

From the **Payouts** area, create a standalone **invoice** for the partner. Where appropriate, you can raise an **RCTI / self-billing invoice**.

## Step 2 – Give the partner access

Make sure the partner has **partner portal** access so they can see and pay what they owe. See the partner portal guide.

## Step 3 – The partner pays

The partner logs in, views the invoice and pays it online—just like a customer pays in their portal. No chasing, no manual reconciliation.

## Step 4 – Track it

Watch the invoice's **status** in the Payouts area; it moves to **paid** once settled.

Combine this with the partner portal's transparency: partners can see their full statement, which cuts down on "what's this for?" emails and gets you paid faster.

### How do partners pay invoices I raise?

Through the partner portal. Once you've created an invoice and the partner has portal access, they can view and pay it online—no back-and-forth email needed.

### When would a partner owe me?

Whenever the money flow runs toward you—for example a school owing you commission, or a sub-arrangement where the partner collects and remits your share.

### How do I create the invoice?

From the Payouts area, create a standalone invoice ('Create an invoice'). You can also raise an RCTI / self-billing invoice where appropriate.

### Can the partner pay with the same methods as customers?

Partners pay through their portal using the methods available to them; the experience mirrors the customer portal.

### How do I know when I've been paid?
