# Managing subscriptions

> Keep your recurring payments under control after they're set up.

## At a glance

- **Intended for:** Everyone
- **Available in:** All plans
- **Reading time:** 3 minutes
- **Last updated:** 31st May 2026

## Quick summary

The Subscriptions page lists all your recurring payments, which you can view by frequency (every week, every 2 weeks, every month), mode (scheduled, amount cap, partial payment) and status (active, canceled, expired). Open any subscription to manage it, send its details to the customer by email, or cancel it so no further payments are created.

## Overview

Setting up a subscription is half the job—**managing** it over time is the other half. The **Subscriptions** page is your control panel for every recurring payment.

## Finding subscriptions

View and filter your subscriptions by:

- **Frequency** — every week, every 2 weeks, every month
- **Mode** — scheduled, amount cap, or partial payment
- **Status** — active, canceled, expired

## Managing one

Open a subscription to:

- **Manage subscription** — see its schedule, amount and the payments it has created
- **Send subscription details via email** — email the customer a summary of their recurring payment
- **Cancel subscription** — stop it, so **no further payments are created**

Cancelling stops future payments but leaves past ones on record. The status then shows as **canceled**; a subscription that has run its course shows as **expired**.

To collect each cycle without chasing the customer, pair the subscription with a **direct debit**—the customer authorises once and every cycle is taken automatically. See the direct debit guides.

## Frequently asked questions

### Where do I see all my subscriptions?

On the Subscriptions page. It lists every recurring payment you've set up, and you can view them by frequency, mode and status.

### How can I filter or group subscriptions?

By frequency (every week, every 2 weeks, every month), by mode (scheduled, amount cap, or partial payment), and by status (active, canceled, expired)—so you can quickly find, say, all active monthly subscriptions.

### How do I cancel a subscription?

Open the subscription and choose Cancel. No further payments are created after that. (Past payments stay on record.)

### Can I send the subscription details to the customer?

Yes—use 'Send subscription details via email' to email the customer a summary of their recurring payment.

### What does each subscription status mean?

Active means it's running and creating payments on its schedule; canceled means you've stopped it; expired means it has reached its natural end.

### What are the subscription modes again?

Scheduled bills the set amount each cycle; amount cap recurs until a total cap is reached; partial payment collects a single payment in parts over the cycles.

### Do subscriptions collect automatically?

They create the payments on schedule; to collect each one automatically, pair the subscription with a direct debit so the customer doesn't have to pay manually each time.
