# Managing a partnership: every tab explained

> A guided tour of everything you can configure on a partner.

## At a glance

- **Intended for:** Everyone
- **Available in:** All plans
- **Reading time:** 5 minutes
- **Last updated:** 31st May 2026

## Quick summary

Open a partnership to manage it across tabs: Summary (financial overview), Info (legal details and tax IDs), Payment options, Documents (contracts), Customers & portal access, Preferences & payment splits (commission and payout behaviour), and Bank accounts. Payout preferences control approval, tax documents (RCTI vs Tax Invoice) and statement descriptor.

## Overview

A partnership is more than a name and a bank account—it's a small control panel for the whole relationship. Here's what each tab does.

## Summary

A **financial overview** for the partner: amounts that are **paid**, **due**, **pending**, **overdue**, **failed** and **pending review**. The fastest way to see where you stand with a partner.

## Info

Manage the partner's **legal details and tax IDs**—name, logo, address and the legal information needed to send payouts and generate correct tax documents.

Missing address or legal details will block payouts. The Info tab flags what's needed.

## Payment options

Tell Qualy **how you want to handle payments** with this partner.

## Documents

Store **contracts and files** related to the partnership, safely in one place.

## Customers & portal access

Manage the partner's **key contacts** and who can access the **partner portal**. (At least one contact is needed to send payouts.)

## Preferences & payment splits

The commercial heart of the partnership:

- **Payment splits** — your default commission with this partner
- **Payout preferences** — how Qualy pays them

### Payout approval

Choose **auto-approve** (payouts send automatically) or **require approval** (payouts wait for your manual approval).

### Tax document

Choose what's generated for payouts: an **RCTI / Self-billed invoice** (Recipient Created Tax Invoice, created automatically), a **Tax Invoice** (issued by you), or **None** (only a remittance advice).

### Statement descriptor

What appears on the payout statement, so the partner recognises the payment.

## Bank accounts

Add and manage the partner's **bank accounts**—where their payouts are sent.

## Merging a duplicate partner

Ended up with the **same partner twice**? It happens—often after an import or when two people set the partner up separately. Just like merging duplicate customers, you can **merge duplicate partnerships** into one.

Merging moves the partner's **bank accounts, splits and payouts** onto the partnership you keep, so the relationship lives in a single place and payouts stop landing on the wrong copy.

Before you merge, **clear any failed or pending-review splits on the duplicate**. Once those are sorted, merge the duplicate into the partnership you want to keep.

You can manage many partners at once from the Partnerships list: enable or disable payouts, set payouts to require approval, set the relationship tier, or set the partnership type—all in bulk.

## Frequently asked questions

### What tabs does a partnership have?

Summary, Info, Payment options, Documents, Customers & portal access, Preferences & payment splits, and Bank accounts. Each manages one aspect of the relationship.

### What does the Summary show?

A financial overview for the partner—paid, due, pending, overdue, failed and pending review amounts—so you can see your position with them at a glance.

### What are payout preferences?

They control how Qualy pays the partner: whether payouts require approval or auto-send, which tax document is generated (RCTI / Self-billed invoice, Tax Invoice, or None), and the statement descriptor that appears on payouts.

### What's the difference between RCTI and a Tax Invoice?

An RCTI (Recipient Created Tax Invoice) is issued on the partner's behalf and can be created automatically; a Tax Invoice is issued by you. You choose which document Qualy generates for payouts.

### Can I require approval before paying a partner?

Yes. Set payouts to require manual approval, or auto-approve so they send automatically.

### Where do I add legal details and tax IDs?

On the Info tab. These are needed to send payouts and generate correct tax documents.

### Can I enable or disable payouts for a partner?

Yes—per partner, and you can also enable/disable payouts in bulk across several partners, or set them to require approval.

### What's the statement descriptor?

The text that appears on the payout statement, so the partner recognises where the payment came from.

### I have the same partner twice—can I merge them?

Yes. Just like merging duplicate customers, you can merge duplicate partnerships. Merging moves the partner's bank accounts, splits and payouts onto the partnership you keep, so everything ends up in one place. Before you merge, clear any failed or pending-review splits on the duplicate—once those are sorted, merge the duplicate into the partnership you want to keep.
